HELP US BUILD ALUNA - A MONUMENTAL MOON AND TIDE CLOCK FOR OUR TIME
Aluna is a landmark for our times – the world’s first monumental Moon and Tide Clock. Set at 0° longitude on the Greenwich Peninsula, this vast sculpture will reconnect people with the Moon, tides, and planetary rhythms that shape life on Earth. Built from 100% recycled materials and powered by solar and tidal energy, Aluna is both ancient and futuristic – a place of gathering, learning and imagination for generations to come.
We are working toward an ambitious goal: to switch Aluna on in 2031, creating a permanent, living timepiece for the Earth.
After years of community engagement, scientific development and cultural support from partners including the Mayor of London, Royal Borough of Greenwich, Royal Observatory, Science Museum, Brian Eno and the Astronomer Royal, and many more, Aluna is ready to enter its final development phase.
WE'RE SEEKING TO RAISE £110,000 TO FUND THE NEXT 18 MONTHS ESSENTIAL WORK:
-
Post-pandemic, reignite partnerships with public bodies, planners, funders and cultural collaborators
-
Finalise engineering and environmental studies with our design and ecology team
-
Develop our brand identity, messaging and visual storytelling
-
Produce new video, 3D visuals and social media content
-
Grow our network of supporters and public champions
- Prepare our full capital fundraising campaign
-
Deliver engagement events and reconnect communities
-
Coordinate project management across teams and partners
This phase is crucial to prepare for our full capital fundraising campaign and the successful delivery of Aluna by 2031. Our long-term target is to raise £20m for construction and the public programmes.
BE PART OF ALUNA'S LEGACY - WITH YOUR NAME ON IT
This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to help create a new kind of public landmark – one that celebrates the rhythms of the Moon, the power of nature, and the strength of community.
Whether you give £10, £25, £50, £100 or more, you’re helping to power the next phase of Aluna’s journey. You can make a one-off donation, or choose to give monthly to support us over time.
Every gift counts. A tide begins with many small waves – and together, hundreds of small donations will help us reach our £110,000 target. It’s the collective energy of supporters like you that will bring Aluna to life.
All donors – of every amount – will be publicly credited, including on-site at Aluna, as part of a permanent, inclusive tribute to everyone who made it possible.
